Truth Serum Productions (http://www.truthserum.org) is beginning programming
for the Urban Country Fair 2009 in Union Square Somerville. The date is
Saturday September 18th from 3-7pm. (rain date 20st). I'm starting to pull together the talent for the show and will let you know who is on board soon.

The concept of a country fair includes sharing, showing off, selling and
swapping. We're encouraging vendors to show people what they make and
how it's done when possible. The application info is below. Please join

HERE'S THE APPLICATION PROCESS:
-send a separate email to crafter (at) truthserum (dot) org include only the
following:
-subject line "Urban Country Fair Sept. 19, 2009"
-your name
-email address
-phone number
-website
-if no website, include small image of work
-describe your set up: tent? tables?
-up to 3 lines describing what you do/make/sell
-anything else you want to tell

guidelines:
-deadline is August 15. spread the word. forward this to friends.
-preference given to somerville residents (though, there are plenty of
spots)
-space fee is $40 via paypal only. (unless we have previously made other arrangements successfully.
-you must provide your own table and chairs and tent.
-the space is flexible. we will work together to make it work for
everyone. you should plan on taking up less than a 8'x8' space. unless
you have a tent (then you get 10x10).
-there will be a limit to the number of jewelry and tshirt vendors.
-all items must be made by you, with a few exceptions...which i'll explain to you if you have a question. this is a craft/art/handmade sale. record vendors will be considered if the music is primarily country. email with questions.
-once we get on site, everyone will contribute to set up and making the space work. ie: don't show up late and complain that you got a bad spot.

if accepted, be prepared to:
-send high quality jpg of products
-help get the word out via all means possible
-pay via PayPal within two days of acceptance notification.
-have fun, make money, have fun, create community, enliven civic spaces,
 celebrate awesome somerville!

[please note: periodically Truth Serum produces sales/vendor
events/crafts in the clubs/etc and would love to include you in our
calls for participants. if you're not available for this sale but would
like to know about others coming up, please email
crafter (at) truthserum (dot) org with "crafts in clubs" in the subject line and
include some info like in list above and i'll keep you posted]
